(Video): iPhone 4S’s Siri makes appearance on CBS’s Big Bang Theory
Yesterday, we reported how riots mulled the iPhone 4S launch in China. Overnight, we got various other reports that we’d like to let you know about:
- People pushed and shoved each other while waiting in line.
- Riot police were called to the scene after reports of riots inside the store.
- Apple closed the store after it ran out of their allotment of devices.
- After that, the outside of the store was egged.
- The store was also attacked with small rocks, which damaged the outside.
- Apple shut down the launch for fear of employee’s safety.
- No word on when (or even if) they’ll try and launch the device again.
Late Thursday, we discovered a pair of Android applications claiming to be “the answer to Siri for Android” and even sport Apple’s Siri logo (as shown on the right).
According to the description:
Siri, now for your Android device!
This application is a Siri icon that opens “Google’s Voice Actions” app.
Google Voice Actions is a powerful app that comes with every Android device. It supports many different voice commands and Google is constantly working to make it even more powerful. Show your iPhone friends your Android phone can do what Siri does!
Some Example Commands include:Send text messages
Say “send text to [recipient] [message]*”
e.g. “send text to Allison Miller Running late. I will be home around 9″
